tybee island 2011 part 1.

we had the best family vacation we've ever had. we were able to really enjoy our kids. i don't know about you but our vacations are pretty much: what the kids want. the kids get. don't get me wrong... we totally take the spanking spoon. but we tend to eat ice cream every night. play at the pool too long. skip naps. you know spoil the mini's a bit. i also want to add; coleman is in a season of life that requires a lot of attention. he can't "get down" as much as he would like. but under the circumstance, he was totally a pro. and i can't wait to see how he handles vacays next year. [i bet that post will go something like: "i just thought last year was great." ha!
anyhow, we headed down just like promised friday morning around 7:15. the kids did great on the drive down. we got to camp set up. our air conditioner went out! but, our friend/tour guide for the weekend, carol searched craigslist, found an awesome replacement, and drove steven to get it. all while c, e, mom, and i played in the pool. a little spit, grit, sweat, and a new to us air conditioner and we were all ready for dinner.

we ate at huc a poos.
it was in.credible. $12 for a 22" pizza. and it was out. of this. world. good!

not to mention the atmosphere is awesome. the kids both played and we just sat and watched. o! and ate. we then headed to the river. see that's the cool thing about tybee they have a river and the beach. after watching some crabs, dolphins, a shrimp boat, and a wedding we headed to the pier.

we ate ice cream and enjoyed the nice breeze.

we were only camping about 1 mile from town, so we headed back for baths and bed.

saturday we got up early. the men & emily headed to fish.
the women & coleman headed for yard sales and thrift store.
the men caught no fish. but we found more than enough at the stores and yards we hit. we all had so much fun. we had an early dinner, and played in the pool while it cooked:)

while everyone cleaned up[lucky us]. we headed to the beach.

we played in the sand, run, jumped waves, swallowed salt water, and enjoyed the breeze until way after dark. the best thing about the beach is everything is open late. so we headed for another round of ice cream. it was "delicious" -emily

after that we headed to the "campin" to sleep because we were all exhausted. that's all for part 1.
stay tuned part 2 is just as good.....

slice of heaven.

we live here. no really... we do. it's about 1/4 a mile from our house. we were granted access to this beautiful piece of heaven, in our deed. sadly, we had never taken our kids. we told our friends about it and they asked if we could all picnic at the river. we said sure. and our kids played for 3 hours. they swam, jumped, laughed, ate sand, and had the best. time. ever. we hope to head down a few more times before it gets too cold. i'm so thankful we live here-

love this place. :)

august birthdays.

dear grandma:
we love you so much. you are so much fun. and we love getting fruit from you! no really.. we love that you bring us fruit every time you visit. thank you for loving us so much. you are so funny and kind. thanks for helping keep the kids, pick weeds, and listening when we complain. you are more than a cool grandma, you are a friend. we love you and hope you had a wonderful and blessed birthday. and.. next year, i promise to put more brown sugar on the pineapple upside down cake.

dear john,
you are so sweet. you are so funny. and we are glad you are our friend. hope you had a wonderful birthday. and we can't wait to play again. very soon! p.s. i'm glad emily picked you for a "first boyfriend" haha.

i'll be back-

we are leaving at 7:15 in the morning for our annual labor day beach weekend. it's sad because it will possible be our last 4 day weekend. [emily is in prek this year & her school doesn't start back until after labor day. next years public school will begin in august] but i'm sure we will make do in future years with 3 days. because what is more important than education? [vacation! i know!]ha! i plan, now plan is a word i use loosely, to bust out a few good blogs. including but not limited to a trip overview, a consignment sale tutorial, and possible share what all we have been up to the past few busy weeks, and what we have accomplished on our summer list. anyway. i'm headed to bed because the house is clean, last load of laundry is in the drier, i just started the dishwasher, and everything[except what we will forget] is packed......
but be excited i will be back with a post about this beautiful place....

18 months

today the cutest, sweetest, most adorable, little boy i know turned 18 months old. he is so funny and i couldn't love him more. he tests me. he tries me. he loves me. he doesn't listen to me. he plays hide and seek like a pro. he laughs the sweetest laugh.

current nickname: dirty bird.

he loves: daddy, mommy, emily, trucks, books, baths climbing. [he climbs up/on everything.] fish, dirt, water, playing in cars, and playing outside.

he dislikes: swinging. being told "no!"
that's pretty much it. he's loves doing almost everything.

favorite foods: hotdogs, bologna, carrots, peas, strawberries, blueberries, bread, bananas, bacon, hash browns, pizza, cheetos, muffins[any kind], chicken nuggets, fries, cheese, and pancakes.

unfavorite foods; green beans, apples[we liked these a few days ago but recently we have a "chew up and spit out" relationship.], eggs, and oatmeal.

funny things coleman can do: he repeats most actions: surprised face, emily's screaming, ect.
jumping [this includes the off the couch!]
he is now a professional at turning flips.
throwing his own diaper in the garbage and saying "shhhhh!"
making car noises.
he is slowly learning cause/effect.
"hot!" a favorite word.
dancing has become a way to try to avoid discipline. i guess because it always makes mommy laugh.:)

c went to the dr. today. he is skinny and tall [19 lbs- 33.5 inches tall]
we are scheduling an audiologist appt.
he escaped a shot by 24 hours. lucky ducky!
he has allergies. duh.
and the pedi refered to him as "cute"
 [i couldn't agree more.]

happy 1 1/2 year birthday baby boy.

i say it over and over...

but it's so true. these two are growing up way too fast! i mean, i am home with them everyday so to me some days draaaag along. and others i'm like, is it really time to cook dinner? geez! so i've decided i am going to take a picture of these sweet & sour minis once a month and "update" what they like, hate, are doing, etc. i know super boring but i want to be able to look back and say o! yea! remember... and actually remember. plus when i make their "year book" each year it will be a quick reminder. i hope.
so when you see this sort of "update" you now will know why it's here. ha!

before i go...

[warning] i'm about to explode this blog with posts. we will be having a very busy & exciting week ahead. we are going to the beach, starting prek, turning 18 months, and i will be catching up on the past 2/3 weeks. be back soon. :)

a haircut and a bee sting.

it's pretty simple. coleman got his first haircut today. he had these "wings" coming out behind his ears.

and all though he is the custest little boy. ever. that had to go. so at 17 months & 11 days old coleman..."got the wings clipped" ha. get it.. okay here are the adorable pictures.

the first snip

here he is after his first haircut. so adorable! i could just squeeze him.

e also needed at cut so she tagged along. [as did papoo for back up.] she no longer has a mullet. thank god. i had planned to take a picture of the new cut, but as we left a wasp came out of no where and got emily right on the finger. she handled it like a pro. i quickly gave her benadryl, and a band aid. she is re cooperating at her mimi and papoo's. so alls well that ends well. i will make sure to get a picture of her hair soon, because it's so stinkin' cute too. she is getting to be such a big girl.
